Secretary of State Urges Support for Small Business Saturday

With this year’s Small Business Saturday taking place tomorrow Saturday (1st December), Retail NI has urged consumers to pull out all the stops to support their local independent retailers and make this year the best yet. The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Karen Bradley, gave her support for Small Business Saturday when she visited Retail NI member Wardens and other traders in Newtownards today.

Wardens are one of the Small Business Saturday Top 100.

The Secretary of State for Northern Ireland, Karen Bradley MP said:

"I was delighted to meet local small businesses in Newtownards today. These independent traders are the heart of local communities and the economy throughout Northern Ireland and the wider UK. 

"I would encourage everyone to show their full support for their local small businesses. They provide vital support and services to local people not just on Small Business Saturday, but all year round."

 Retail NI Chief Executive Glyn Roberts said:

“Independent retailers and small business owners are working harder then ever to provide top level choice, quality and service this Christmas and we urge shoppers to make a special effort to support them on Small Business Saturday and throughout the Christmas period”
